Rural Outreach Programme

CSC Outreach programme was launched from Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir by Sh Sachin Pilot, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications & IT and Sh Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister, Jammu and Kashmir. Over 500 people were present at the launch where the CSC outreach van was flagged off. The van will halt at 115 CSCs in 5 districts of the state. A total of 2843 CSCs will be covered during the campaign. The first phase will be in 11 States.

1.The CSC outreach programme in Uttarakhand was launched by Sh.Anand Srivastava, ADM, Haridwar on 23rd Nov 12.
2.The CSC outreach programme in MP was launched by Sh. Giriraj Kishore Poddar, MLA in presence Sh.Dinesh Srivastava, Addl Collector, Katni from Katni Gram Panchyat office on 25th Nov 12.
3.The CSC outreach programme in UP was launched by Sh. Jeevesh Nandan, Principal Secretary (IT), Govt of Uttar Pradesh from Lucknow on 26th Nov 12.
4.The CSC outreach programme in Chattisgarh was launched by Dr. Raman Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh from Raipur on 28th Nov 12.
5.The CSC outreach programme in Maharashtra was launched by Sh. Anil Deshmukh, Hon'ble Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Govt of Maharashtra from Nagpur collectorate office 3rd Dec 12.
6.The CSC outreach programme in Bihar was launched by Sh.Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Minister in presence of Sh. Shahid Ali Khan, Hon’ble IT Minister, Govt of Bihar from Patna on 21st Dec 12.
7.Outreach campaign is flagged off by Sh.Subrata Mukherjee, Honb'le Minister of Panchayats and Rural Development along with Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon’ble MOS in Charge, Law & Judiciary Department & MOS, Health & Family Welfare Department, Sh Firad Hakim, Honb'le Minister for Urban Development, Govt of West Bengal from Kolkata on 18th Dec 2012.
8.CSC outreach programme was launched by Sh. Sushil Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Secretary, Government of Jharkhand from Ranchi on 22 Jan. 2013. It will cover 24 CSCs in 5 districts.

About the Programme:

In order to support CSCs at the grassroots & spread awareness about e-governance in villages, DeitY has planned an outreach activity in nearly 3000 CSCs across the country. In Phase-I, the campaign will be rolled out in 11 states (Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Goa, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Jharkhand) covering approx 1343 CSCs.

Common service centers are providing various govt. services to people like Certificates (Birth, Death, Domicile, caste, Income etc) MNREGA payments, NIELIT’s CCC courses and non government service, Bank account opening, withdrawal/ deposit, loan document, online railways and airline ticket booking, DTH recharge, etc.

It includes an exhibition van which is giving hand on experience about various public services available through these Center. While other interesting elements of the exhibition like nukkad natak, audio visual experience and VLE assistance is educating people about convenience and transparency of services available through CSCs.

Common service centers are part of National e-governance plan which is a major initiative of the Government of India for ushering in e-Governance for improving the quality of basic governance, on a massive scale in areas of concern to the common man.
The vision of NeGP is to “Make all Government services accessible to the common man in his locality, through common service delivery outlets and ensure efficiency, transparency & reliability of such services at affordable costs to realize the basic needs of the common man”.
